Pros

- Work/life balance - Luxurious offices - Friendly colleagues

Cons

- Everyone is leaving to CIP/Macquarie/competitors for a reason. This is not really a performance culture. -Mainly promote people who excel at perception management, and whose face fits. You'll notice Danish managers making sure the Danes are taken care of. In London, the office is super cliquey - if you're on the 'in' or social friends with your boss you'll do fine. No correlation between output and prospects. - Regular/annual reorgs to make sure a small number of the circa 50 at the top of Offshore are well taken care of, and that chairs are shuffled as to obscure underperformance/missed KPIs. - Pays significantly below market, and bonuses (if you get them) are laughable. As a consequence an above average number of managers come from wealthy backgrounds/have wealthy spouses that enable them to work for 50%-70% of a fair market salary at Orsted. This is really an equality issue. - Ultimately, a wonderful place if you have a busy home life with young kids and need 8 hours to relax each day in the office, have some cake, free lunch and a coffee with colleagues. If you're good at playing politics and/or happen to be a Dane, you'll likely even get promoted or be given some plum expat postings. - If on the other hand you really care about performance, execution, meeting your targets, you're best off at CIP or somewhere that pays for performance and therefore expects it.

Pros

Good benefits, cooked lunch! Great new office with additional staff perks Good work/life balance

Cons

Tend to over promise at interview but under deliver once employed. Poor management, non-competitive salaries at all. Progress in company heavily depends on being Danish, the business unit you work in, your manager or essentially who you know. Promotions are usually only within senior management. Middle management and support staff (admin, IT etc) have very little opportunities for career progression. Profess to have strong guiding principles but it's lacking in management decisions and processes.

Pros

Some absolutely inspiring and fantastic people who are highly skilled and intelligent. A great brand to work for with an aspiration that it is easy to get behind. Flexible working in the U.K. is excellent and if you do go into the office the free lunch is worth it!

Cons

You only progress if you have a good manager and there are lots of managers who are more keen to manage upwards. There is little or no recognition for those who underpin and keep the business running at the lower levels including no bonus until senior manager level. The company does have an arrogant feel - it is openly said in meetings “this is the Ørsted way” as if that is a good thing - even if it is in disagreement with the rules and regulations of the environment you are working in. Diversity & Inclusion targets are focussed solely on gender and despite having active networks for many years the company is no where near meeting even the lowest of targets and shows no signs at the senior levels of the organisation of changing this.

Thanks for your rating and your comments. The last thing Ørsted wants to be is arrogant, toxic, and non-inclusive, so we've made a note of your comments and will be looking into it. /Birgitta, Ørsted.
