Becoming General Manager at just 23 years old, Jack progressed from Product Genius to the Manager of his branch in a short six years. Jack joined Salford Vauxhall as a Product Genius at 18 years old, but by working alongside insightful and supportive colleagues and showing his managers he could perform well while helping others, he progressed to a Product Consultant in just 12 months. In 2017, he was made Sales Manager at Manchester Vauxhall, then earned his promotion to General Manager at Stoke Vauxhall in 2020 – the biggest branch in the English franchise. After two years at Stoke, Jack was offered a return home to Salford to become General Manager of Salford Vauxhall, before moving to our Stretford branch where he is currently based. Jack said: "I never had a work ethic when I started in Arnold Clark, and now it is unmatched. You look at the people who are in a position you want to be in and you analyse what they do compared to your average Joe." With the correct mindset and drive, there are outstanding opportunities to progress within your department at Arnold Clark.
Congratulations to the 143 Arnold Clark apprentices who have successfully completed their apprenticeships through our training provider GTG Training over the past 18 months. In recognition of their success, our graduates attended last week’s GTG Apprentice Celebration in our Glasgow training centre. The event honoured a diverse range of apprentices from across Scotland and England, recognising their achievements after up to three years of intensive training at GTG and in their selected Arnold Clark branch. We’re proud to provide our apprentices with meaningful career pathways and lifelong skills – paving the way for a new generation of automotive experts while securing a bright future for the industry. Well done everyone! 🎉
After working as a Valeter for a number of years, Gary joined our apprentice scheme to expand his knowledge and learn new skills. The scheme, which was created to give existing employees a chance to upskill, took three years to complete, allowing him to become a fully qualified Technician at our Hillington Renault branch. After further training and support from the company, he's now a mentor to an Apprentice Technician in the workshop, sharing his knowledge and experience with the next generation – as well as boosting his earnings. But his progression doesn't stop there – he's now working to go further and become a Master Technician!

We provide lifelong careers at Arnold Clark, and Neive, our Mercedes-Benz of Perth Franchise Lead and Retention Manager, is a perfect example of the many progression opportunities we offer. From starting as a Product Genius in 2019, Neive soon progressed into Sales as a Product Consultant in 2020, where she received the award for 'Best New Product Consultant’ at the Arnold Clark Recognition Awards 2022. Just a year later, through hard work and a can-do attitude, she earned her current role as Franchise Lead and Retention Manager at our Mercedes-Benz of Perth branch, working closely with four other sites in Dundee, Aberdeen, Grangemouth and Inverness. Receiving training through the Management Licence Programme, regular Mercedes-Benz training and support from her managers, Neive is flourishing in her role. Neive said: "When I was promoted, I was absolutely ecstatic. The company really do recognise you for your hard work and believe in progression – it was like a pat on the back for all my hard work and passion for the brand."

Last month we held the Product Genius 100 Club which recognised product geniuses from across Arnold Clark who consistently go the extra mile to drive our business forward. This annual event plays an important part in ensuring that our product geniuses reap the rewards of their hard work and dedication to the business.
