BAT Malaysia was recognised for its leading development in talent management and acquisition strategies at the prestigious HR Excellence Awards 2015. They received 8 accolades: 2 Gold awards for Excellence in Talent Management and Excellence in Employee Engagement; 4 Silver awards for Excellence in Employer Branding, Excellence in Recruitment & Retention Strategy, Excellence in Innovative Use of HR Technology, and Excellence in Employee Development; and 2 Bronze awards for Excellence in Leadership Development and Excellence in Graduate Development.
Around 1,000 female students attended the “2015 Female Career Fair” that BAT Korea recently participated in, along with over 80 multi-national and local companies across all industries. As a senior female Executive, Business Development Manager Eun Ji Kim had one-on-one career development mentoring sessions with over 30 female students. HR Director (North Asia Area), David Kim gave a student lecture to a 100+ female audience about “Female leadership and Athena” with an active Q&A session.
BAT recently attended the United States International University Kenya mid-year career event to talk to students about their future aspirations and share first-hand experiences. Hundreds of students came through the two day event, which drew participation from Kenya’s top corporates and business organisations. The BAT stand attracted a large number of students who were warmly received by our Brand Ambassadors. We took the opportunity to demonstrate that our business is about more than just what we do; it’s also about how we do it. ‘We are BAT’ was the sense of pride that we all exhibited.
Battle of Minds (BOM), BAT Bangladesh’s flagship recruitment initiative, stepped into its 12th year in 2015. More than 100 graduates have joined BAT Bangladesh through this pioneering case competition, where participants get a holistic experience of handling real-life businesses. In 2015, BOM started with alumni and the Top Team engaging more than 18 universities. Each year has a new theme, and 2015 now asks participants: What Will Be Your Legacy? BAT Kenya hosted a one-of-a-kind uplifting experience dubbed: "Welcome to the Village" as part of its internal employee engagement journey. The event featured a play and a local motivational speaker who reinforced the behaviours that the successful teams and individuals need to continue nurturing, such as open-mindedness, recognition and a winning attitude. It was time to step back, reflect and re-engage for the Kenya office teams.
The British American Tobacco Switzerland Foundation is proud to announce the winner of Prix Photo 2015. 28-year old Niels Ackermann from Geneva won both the Prix Photo 2015 and the Audience Award with the series “Chernobyl’s children have grown up.” With Prix Photo, the BAT Switzerland Foundation aims to support and promote established and upcoming photographers in Switzerland. As well as sharing their experiences and insights into careers within each function, our ambassadors gave an insider's perspective to graduates about what it is like working at BAT.

BAT Mexico recently held a 5k fun run as part of their successful “Fun Day” to create moments that help bring our work and personal life into balance.
