Oral nicotine pouches have the lowest risk profile of all Smokeless Products. They originate from Sweden, a country with a history of traditional oral tobacco product use. Since the 1970s, many people in Sweden have switched from smoking to using Snus – a traditional oral tobacco product. More recently, other smokeless products – heated, vapour, and nicotine pouches - have been introduced. At BAT, we take Sweden’s success story as an example of what is possible. With the lowest smoking rate in Europe at just 5.4%, largely due to the prevalence of smokeless alternatives, Sweden demonstrates the potential impact of innovation. A Smokeless World can become a reality by offering adults, who would otherwise continue to smoke, smokeless alternatives with a reduced-risk profile.
