A place where every moment matters, today, we're raising awareness of World Autism Day. With over 700,000 people in the UK on the autism spectrum, at Consensus our colleagues are proud to support people with autism to embrace all life has to offer and achieve their dreams. Varying from person to person, we recognise the unique strengths and challenges of autism, ensuring each persons support is tailored to suit them - whether that's supporting someone to overcome barriers when looking for employment, to creating homes that are suited to sensory needs, every moment is working towards an inclusive and supportive future 💙 #WorldAutismDay
Back in 2024, we had the pleasure of sharing Ashley's story and progress since moving to Strawberry Fields, and Ashley is very excited to share his latest accomplishment with everyone... Always having the dream of swimming, previously his PWS and lymphedema around his legs had acted as a barrier from achieving his goals. Ashley has been hard at work developing his relationship with food into a healthy one, and just last week he went swimming for the first time in over 2 years - how incredible is that?! 🎊 Ashley is now ready and raring for the summer, where he'll be able to go swimming and most importantly, ride the log flumes at Harbour Park. Way to go Ashley! 👏
A week ago today some of our colleagues had the pleasure of attending the Great Place to Work event, to find out if we'd been recognised as a UK's Best Workplace for a second year running. Sometimes, nothing beats the feeling of holding a handwritten letter—just ask Kerry! With her family far away, she longed for new friendships, and thanks to Service Manager Terri’s brilliant idea, she found them through pen pals across Consensus 💌 Now, Kerry has four wonderful pen pals, a scrapbook full of treasured letters, and, most excitingly, she recently met one in person! With support from her staff, Kerry took a taxi to meet Geraldine for a coffee date full of chatter and laughter, and their friendship is truly blossoming. A huge thank you to everyone at Windsor Avenue for making this happen. Here’s to more letters, friendships, and memories Kerry! ✨
