☕ 🍰 Long Service Afternoon Tea ☕ 🍰 Over the summer, we celebrated our long service colleagues with an afternoon of sweet treats, catching up and sharing memories. With a tent full of colleagues with 20+ years' service, the afternoon consisted exchanging stories, taking a trip down memory lane with our story board and hearing about our origin story from our Founder, Bill Adderley. We want to say the biggest thank you to our long service colleagues for being such an integral part of Dunelm's history and story so far, and we hope you continue to be a part of our chapters for years to come 💓
Want to deliver a little joy this year? 🎁 Christmas is coming up fast 🎄 and for the fourth year running, we’ve launched our Delivering Joy campaign to help bring gifts and decorations to people who’d otherwise go without. Each year, our fantastic customers and colleagues come together to fulfil Christmas wishes through the gift tags that decorate our in-store Christmas trees, each pre-filled by a member of the local community. Last Christmas, that meant 62,000 gifts were given to those that needed them. This year, we’ve partnered with mental health charity Mind so that those that can’t make it to store can fulfil wishes online. Want to get involved? There are three ways to do it: 1. Buy a gift for someone described on one of our tags. You’ll find tags hanging on our Christmas trees instore, or on our website. 2. Make a gift for someone described on one of our tags. (why not pop into your local Pausa Café to take part in a Knit & Stitch group?) 3. Donate any extra Christmas decorations at the drop-off points in your nearest store

Our Sustainability Report outlines how we are building sustainability into all that we do. In the report we share updates on our progress against key targets and highlight a range of sustainability initiatives from around the business.
Our new Cwmbran store opened on Halloween 2023, and what an opening it has been. We had over 400 customers queuing, with the first arriving at 6am! From start to finish this has been a true team effort demonstrating that we are stronger together. What a great store team we have in Cwmbran who have really played their part in creating an amazing looking store, supported with some truly committed and experienced colleagues from this region and other regions across the business. Thanks to all involved and a very happy welcome to all our fantastic new customers! Enjoy 💚
Black History Month 2023 💚 This year’s Black History Month theme was Saluting our Sisters and #WEMATTER, which highlights the crucial role that black women have played in shaping history, inspiring change, and building communities. We’ve had an exciting month filled with lots of fun and information and we wanted to share what we have been up to: 💚 Started our very first Ethnicity & Race podcast: As the theme is saluting our sisters, we chose colourism as a topic for our first episode. 💚 Colleague spotlights: Each week we sat with one of our colleagues to discuss what BHM means to them and the importance of being an ally 💚 Set up an internal hub to share stories of inspirational black women 💚 Film club: our colleagues shared 2 clips - "The Talk About Racism" & "School of New Africa where we invited colleagues to comment and share their thoughts 💚 Internal blogs with features including: "How to talk to children about BHM" , "Black History Month: How to be an ally" , "Black History Month ft. your LGBTQ+ Colleague Network" & "Black History Month 2023" 💚 Internal quizzes with prizes A special thanks to all those involved in setting up each element of our celebrations for such an important month.

Fertility Policy Launch We know that undergoing any type of fertility related testing or treatment can be physically, emotionally and financially stressful, and that colleagues going through this may need support. As a large employer it’s highly likely that we’ll have many colleagues who are or have been impacted by challenging fertility testing and treatment journeys, which is why we are committed to giving colleagues the support that they need. Today, we proudly announce our new Fertility Testing and Treatment Support Policy. Our policy supports anyone impacted by fertility testing and treatment. Whether it’s our colleague undergoing the testing / treatment, or accompanying a partner, surrogate, or co-parent, our policy is here to offer support, regardless of role or length of service.
Our brand new careers website is now live! We knew that our site needed a facelift - we had so much more to say, we had changed a lot as a business since we last updated it and we wanted something that candidates, and our own colleagues, could get excited about. The new site now tells our story; of our employer brand, Find Your Happy Place, our values and purpose; our business areas, our expanding I&A and Tech teams, as well as Retail and Warehouse & Delivery; and of our people and their individual stories. It incorporates dynamic job adverts, bringing personalised information to the candidate, rather than them having to look around to find it. Lastly, we share our approach to hybrid working and flexibility and our commitment to wellbeing, belonging, charity and community. We now have a careers site that is exciting, engaging, and ultimately, feels like us. 💚
