We're very excited to announce that EMIS Group is the winner of the prestigious Best Investor Communication Award as part of The AIM Awards 2018! The judges commented on the Group’s honest, accurate and consistent communication with all levels of investors, including both current and potential new shareholders.
20 years ago in 1998 Microsoft becomes the biggest company in the world; Saving Private Ryan and Armageddon were at the cinema and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets came out... It was also the year that we welcomed 22 people to the business who are still with us today! Twenty years service is an amazing achievement and we can’t thank our long serving colleagues enough. To recognise the milestone, everyone celebrating their 20 years with the group in 2018 was invited to a celebratory dinner hosted by Andy Thorburn (CEO), and the rest of the Executive team to receive their award.
In September, 110 colleagues did something amazing by walking 25 miles and climbing the Yorkshire three peaks for MIND. They completed this hard physical and mental challenge; a fantastic personal achievement that really tested endurance, and raised over £22,000! Over the full year, we've raised over £50,000 and there's more to come!
September saw the launch of our Women's Network! Women and men from across EMIS Group joined together to support women in the workplace and to understand the obstacles that women face in building a successful career. Jacqui Summons, our HR Director, said: “I have had many high points since joining EMIS. Today was my best day so far as I looked around the room at our bright, energetic female employees and our male employees that were interested and cared enough to join us. What a day!”
