The celebrations also featured an international feast, with team members bringing in traditional dishes from their home countries. Guests enjoyed a variety of culinary delights including jerk chicken, jollof rice, sadza, plantain puff puff and sausage rolls.

All four were presented with their long service certificates and various gifts from their colleagues.

We spoke with Adeline as part of MHA’s new initiative aiming to shine a spotlight on their senior care assistants and what led them to develop into these roles.
“MHA is a supportive organisation to work for. They provide training, opportunities to learn, and encourage staff to grow. I have met many amazing people here, and teamwork helped us through difficult times."
The duo won an award during MHA’s internal annual awards, the OSCAR’s, where Jan was awarded volunteer of the year and Julie won the Walter Hall Special Recognition Award, named after the founder of MHA.
Its a great way for the home to showcase itself in the community
David is keen to expand the group and has already seen a surge in numbers.
