Mitie has built on its commitment to support the armed forces by launching a new policy for its community of reservists. To assist with their military responsibilities, all members of the armed forces Reserves employed by Mitie will now receive ten days paid leave every year, building on the previous policy of five days unpaid leave.
Mitie Security has assisted its client, Aon plc, the leading global professional services firm providing a broad range of risk, retirement and health solutions, in achieving the prestigious ‘Secured Environments’ accreditation for Aon’s Global HQ at the Leadenhall Building, London. This award makes Aon only the second organisation in the City of London to have achieved this status, joining just 27 other British businesses across the UK to have received the police-approved accreditation.
The University of Northampton’s Criminal and Corporate Investigation team has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Mitie, the UK’s leading facilities management and intelligence-led security business. Mitie, the UK’s leading facilities management and professional services company, has reached another landmark in its electric vehicle (EV) rollout, having taken delivery of its 250th EV. The Nissan e-NV200 van will be based at Heathrow Airport and joins the 200 electric cars and 49 electric vans already in Mitie’s fleet.

New research by Mitie Energy has found that helping the environment isn’t just on the mind of consumers, as over a third (36%) of UK businesses say they now have or are currently planning a strategy to reach net zero carbon emissions, according to their energy decision-makers.
Mitie has been awarded a five-year contract with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Manufacturing Supply Chains, the science-led global healthcare company, following a competitive tender. The contract is worth around £150 million over five years, with an option to extend the contract for up to two years.
New research from Mitie has shown that almost half (48%) of Facilities Managers (FMs) are missing out on the benefits of digital transformation by not adopting new technology. The report, Digital Transformation: Is Facilities Management Ready?, reveals that just seven per cent of FMs say they are constantly seeking to identify, trial and implement new technology solutions to stay ahead of the curve.

Mitie has delivered the 100th and 101st electric vehicles (EVs) to join its fleet to two contracts in Edinburgh today. A first for both Edinburgh Castle and Fife College, Mitie colleagues at each site have received their brand new fully electric vans, which will be used every day as part of their roles.
