To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, we were pleased to organise our first #MitieApprenticeshipAwards, to recognise the outstanding efforts of our apprentices and their champions. With over 180 nominations from across the business, the winners were selected across six categories.

Mitie Security has won three Retail Fraud Awards, securing wins in the ‘Most Innovative Retail Risk Management Solutions’, ‘Best Collaborative Retail Risk Management Solution’ and ‘Retail Risk Management Rising Star of the Year’ categories. These awards recognise Mitie’s work to promote collaboration in the security sector and its industry leading use of technology to help keep people, businesses and local communities safe.

This score puts Mitie in the ‘low risk’ category and second place in the Business Support Services industry, as well as among the top 5% most sustainable businesses in the world. Achieving this ranking recognises Mitie’s commitment to fight climate change, maintain strong corporate governance and create a workplace that promotes inclusion.
Mitie is strengthening its security intelligence offering with the acquisition of Esoteric Limited, a leading provider of specialist counter espionage services. The Esoteric security team will be integrated into Mitie Security, building on its existing risk assurance and consultancy offering.
Mitie has been awarded a new contract to provide cleaning, portering services, and catering for patients and staff at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. Worth £92.5m over five years, the contract has the option to extend for up to 15 years at five-year intervals. The appointment follows a value testing exercise carried out between The Hospital Company Limited (THC) and Oxford University Hospitals (OUH) NHS Foundation Trust, as part of the existing John Radcliffe PFI arrangement.
Mitie has won a new three-year contract with Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) to deliver security services, including site patrols and control room management, for Westfield London and Westfield Stratford City, Europe’s two largest shopping centres.
Mitie is strengthening its high voltage, new connections and electric vehicle (EV) capabilities by acquiring Rock Power Connections Limited, a leading Independent Connections Provider (IPC). The acquisition will enable Mitie to provide new connections to the electric grid, high voltage assets renewals, and end-to-end electric vehicle charging infrastructure solutions for both new and existing clients.
