Mitie Group plc has today announced that Karen Thomas-Bland will take up a newly created role as Programme Integration Director for Mitie?s merger with Interserve?s Facilities Management division. Karen will join Mitie?s Executive Leadership Team reporting directly to CEO Phil Bentley.

Mitie has secured a new integrated facilities management (IFM) contract with Royal London, the UK’s largest mutual life insurance, pensions and investment company. This is the first time Royal London has combined its FM services under one provider with an initial contract for five years, with the option to extend for an additional two years.

Mitie has secured a two-year extension on its ten-year partnership with Groupe PSA, Europe’s second largest carmaker and producer of Peugeot, Citroën, DS Automobiles and Vauxhall brands. The contract is worth £5.2m across two years, with the possibility to extend for another two years.
Mitie’s cleaning team based at Glasgow Central Station has starred in the fifth episode of the second series of the documentary, Inside Central Station, which aired on Sunday 31 May on BBC Scotland. Inside Central Station is a six-part fly-on-the-wall documentary series, showcasing all the hard work of employees on site to ensure that Scotland’s busiest train station runs smoothly.
