This year, we’re delighted to see ourselves in joint first place on The Social Mobility Foundation’s Employer Index. The list ranks the UK’s employers that have taken the most action to improve social mobility in the workplace. In a world brimming with diverse challenges, it’s vital that our workforce mirrors this diversity. But this mission requires targeted, meaningful action, and it’s a core commitment for us as we strive to be a leading employer for diverse talent. Over the last academic year we have: ⭐ Supported over 17,000 secondary school students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds and social mobility target schools with skills development. ⭐ Provided over 200 students with paid work experience placements on our New World New Skills programme. A key challenge for us has been reaching talent, but our recent investment in regional offices will enable us to recruit people from across the country. It also means we’ll be able to continue expanding our community engagement programmes, so that we can reach more young people from lower socio-economic backgrounds.
