✈️Join Hayley, one of our brilliant Systems Support & Training Executives, on her recent trip to TUI’s head office in Hannover, Germany! Last month, Hayley spent a week in Hannover, bringing together teamwork, learning, and a bit of sightseeing. From insightful training sessions to exploring the city with colleagues, it was a trip that truly celebrated the power of collaboration at TUI. 🤝💫 How was it coming together with your team? 💬 “It was brilliant – like we’d seen each other the day before! We get on so well and always support each other. Brainstorming new ideas in person was so beneficial, and seeing everyone’s strengths come to life really highlighted what makes our team great." As part of our International Women’s Day celebrations, our Women in Tech network hosted an inspiring Colleague Hour, open to all, to discuss why accelerating action matters. 💡 A key highlight was hearing from Sim, who shared her incredible career journey: 🖥️ 2015 – Started on the IT Graduate Scheme ⚙️ 2017 – Became a Scrum Master 📡 2021 – Promoted to Technology Team Lead 🚀 Now – Head of Technology Sim’s advice? "There isn’t one way to do a role, a task, or a project. Put your stamp on it. Be open to helping others. Don't be so hard on yourself." Meet Josephine, a true example of opportunity at TUI! 🌎 Josephine first joined TUI as a Rep in 2017. Taking a break to focus on her family and two children, she returned in 2023 as part of the Operations Support Team in Italy. She then transitioned to our recruitment team, supporting TUIfly Germany during the winter and our peak Cabin Crew recruitment period. ✈️ Last summer she returned to Operations Support, and in winter, she explored a new, exciting challenge by joining our Global Social Media Recruitment Marketing team. 🤳 💬 “The last few months have been an amazing journey. I’ve discovered a whole new world and realised just how global TUI is, with so many great job opportunities. I loved being part of the team and will carry this experience with me!” Josephine has now returned to her Operations Support role in preparation for the busy summer season in Italy. Who knows what’s next for Josephine at TUI! ❤️
Today we are celebrating #ValentinesDay by sharing the TUI love story of our colleagues, Beth and Francesco. ❤️ Francesco and Beth met whilst working in Egypt - Francesco as an Activity & Wellbeing Team Leader and Beth as a Fitness Instructor. Their different passions made them the perfect team; guests still joke that Beth ‘breaks them’ with high-energy classes, and Francesco ‘fixes them’ with yoga and wellness! They became inseparable as friends, but it wasn’t until they were offered summer placements in different destinations that they realised they couldn’t be apart. After requesting a couples placement, they secured a summer together in Rhodes, where their relationship began. 🫶 Last summer, during an Aqua-Fit class set to Mamma Mia - Beth’s favourite film - Francesco proposed in the most special way, with guests forming a love heart in the pool. This year, they will return to Rhodes before saying ‘I do’ in a Mamma Mia-style wedding later this year. 💍 We love celebrating special moments like this from our TUI colleagues! Happy Valentine’s Day to all our colleagues, followers, and friends. 💌
Meet Alex: From Kids Rep to TUI BLUE Experience Manager! Currently in his ninth season with TUI and his fourth in sunny Gran Canaria 🌞, Alex’s journey with us is a true example of growth and seizing opportunities. Starting as a Kids Rep, Alex worked his way up through various roles, including Kids Club Supervisor, Childcare Team Leader, BLUE Guide, and now TUI BLUE Experience Manager. Each step brought new challenges and growth, helping him become the professional he is today. Alex credits mentors like Natasha and Dawn for guiding him through every stage of his career. From the cabin to the cockpit, Luke’s journey with TUI has been nothing short of inspiring. ✈️ Following eight years as Cabin Crew, Luke took a bold step toward his dream of becoming a Pilot. In November 2023, he joined our Multi-Crew Pilot Licence (MPL) Cadet Programme and has already achieved incredible milestones - completing 13 theory exams, basic flight training at Oxford Airport, and mastering the Diamond DA40 aircraft. 🌎 Now, Luke has progressed to the advanced stage of training, which includes over 250 hours of simulator training, preparing him for his future role as a Second Officer on the Boeing 737. But what’s the moment he’s most looking forward to? Base training - flying a real Boeing 737 for the very first time, marking his final step towards becoming a fully qualified pilot.
