Happy Volunteer Recognition Day from Thomson Reuters! Did you know that all our teammates receive two days (16 hours) of paid time off every year to volunteer in their communities and make a positive impact? Last November, the Social Impact Institute team hosted the first annual Thomson Reuters Global Volunteer Day. Teammates used the day to volunteer for causes most important to them, and we surpassed our 2,000 volunteer hours goal. Learn more about how we make an impact through volunteering:

"I lead Corporate Social Responsibility and Diversity and Inclusion in India. For the past three years, I have been a core team member helping create and launch the Autism Spectrum Internship program. The Autism Spectrum Internship is a six-month internship program that began in 2020 and has brought over 40 interns to Thomson Reuters. Being a part of this team has been an enriching journey and I'm thankful to have had the opportunity to create a program that positively impacts such a wide range of people. Interacting with the participants and their families has been such a humbling experience. Initiatives like this are important because they allow people to learn about neurodivergent talent, see the benefits of creating a diverse and inclusive workplace, and develop meaningful and lasting connections." Neha, Lead, CSR and D&I, India Stay tuned for our next Inside Thomson Reuters blog to learn more about the Autism Spectrum Internship program and its impact over the past couple of years.
In celebration of Global Volunteer Month in April, the Thomson Reuters Social Impact Institute is excited to host our third annual IMPACTathon from April 24-28, 2023. This week-long series of 5-hour hackathons held across the world connects our employees with nonprofits in need of capacity-building support. By volunteering time pro bono, our teams will work to develop tangible solutions that address the unique challenges faced by these organizations. This year, we're scaling up our efforts to support over 40 nonprofits across the globe!
Today, we're thrilled to announce a new key benefit to our Flex My Way program – Parental Leave. This global minimum standard of paid time will allow all our new parents – both birthing and non-birthing – to care for their new child and create a strong foundation. From April 2023 onward, teammates around the world who welcome a new child into their family through birth or adoption will receive a minimum of 16 weeks paid leave. "Shared experience is such a powerful thing – there is truth in ‘you can be, what you can see’. Participating in Women at Thomson Reuters affords me the opportunity to give back, to help structure topics and connections across our company that support allyship, or awareness of bias, or create safe spaces to ask difficult questions. It’s also about celebrating the great things that the women in our organization achieve or social initiatives that get supported by the momentum and enthusiasm that the Women at Thomson Reuters business resource group brings through the collaboration of this network." Janice Mueller, VP Strategy and Growth, Zug
“I have worked at Thomson Reuters for the past sixteen years, with my current role being a Product Manager for Reuters in India. Women’s History Month is a time to highlight and appreciate the contributions of all women who have worked hard to bring about change. I joined the Women at Thomson Reuters business resource group to contribute to this mission and to help and support my colleagues in achieving their goals and aspirations. Being a member of this group is a great opportunity to network, listen, learn, and empower each other.” Meet Shilpa, Product Manager, India
