“I joined Thomson Reuters just over five years ago, having practiced as a lawyer in Australia for many years beforehand. I am the Co-Chair the Women at Thomson Reuters business resource group for our Asia, Europe, and Middle East (AEM) regions, and a Wellbeing Ambassador. I first joined the Women at Thomson Reuters business resource group because I feel a deep sense of responsibility to use my position and privilege to advocate for women who might not have the same opportunity. I'm one small part of a huge collective of Thomson Reuters women and allies from across all aspects of our business and the globe. Together, we are empowered to use our combined influence to support, mentor and sponsor others and contribute to positive change both inside Thomson Reuters and in the industries where we serve." Meet Tyrilly, Head of Commercial and In-house, Practical Law Australia
“I have been working at Thomson Reuters for close to two years. I'm an Architect for the Enterprise Data Lake in Data and Analytics. My favorite part of working in Data & Analytics is the amazing women on the leadership team – they inspire me every day. There is so much to learn from each of them, and I love how they connect with every team member and help them to prioritize career growth and development for their individual careers. Being a member of the Women at Thomson Reuters business resource group is about being part of a community where you can find inspiration from one another. Everyone has their strengths, and it's a space where you can learn and grow personally and professionally. I strongly believe in creating spaces where we can all come together and uplift one other.” Meet Rittika, Lead Software Engineer, Data Lake

"I recently came back from parental leave to a new role as a Regional HR Solutions Lead on our US Regional Human Resources team. I wasn’t expecting to continue accelerating my career during one of my biggest life moments. Yet, Thomson Reuters has a supportive and human-centric culture which allowed me to navigate this transition with excitement and ambition." Read Haley's story 🔽
Throwback to our global Lunar New Year celebrations that took place across the globe last month. To celebrate the Year of the Rabbit/Cat, teammates from the United States to Singapore enjoyed a variety of in-person and virtual events to share fun and heartwarming traditions of the Lunar New Year. Also, on February 16, 2023, teammates across Thomson Reuters joined the virtual celebration of the Lunar New Year hosted by the Asian Affinity Network.
“The pandemic created distance from my loved ones who live in the United States. It had been three years since I had seen my sister, and I had never met her twins, my niece and nephew, because they were born in December 2020. Thomson Reuters Work from Anywhere policy allowed me to work remotely outside of India for four weeks. In December of 2022, I traveled from India to the United States and experienced my first snowfall and first-time tobogganing in Columbus, Indiana. Our Work from Anywhere program enabled me to re-bond with my family while I was still working. It was great visiting and spending time with my nephews and niece for the first time. I am so grateful to be part of this organization which prioritizes work-life balance.” Nikhila, Talent Acquisition Analyst, Hyderabad

Last month, our Engineering team in Toronto welcomed a new cohort of seven interns to our Software Development team. We have designed an Intern Development Program for the 16-week internship that includes a meet-the-leader session with executives across Thomson Reuters, a learning workshop masterclass from our technology experts, and in-person connection events. It's been a busy few weeks filled with lots of learning and collaboration, and on Tuesday, everyone got together for a board game night at our Toronto office! The laughter and friendly competition were contagious as teammates played Jenga and Codenames. We are looking forward to more team connections over the coming months.
On January 30, the Asian Affinity Network and Black Employee Network Toronto Chapters hosted their first in-person social of 2023 at our Toronto office. This was an opportunity to connect with colleagues and hear from one of our Executive Sponsors, Thomas Kim. Each business resource group shared more about its mission, 2022 highlights, and priorities for 2023. After the presentations, teammates played an ice-breaker game of human bingo, followed by a lunch that included jerk chicken chow mein, jollof rice arancini, spring rolls, samosas, and fried plantain. The two chapters look forward to collaborating throughout 2023! #WorkingAtTR #BlackHistoryMonth #AsianAffinityNetwork #RiseAbove
