Well done to our corporate team in Newcastle, what a fantastic achievement! A great first half of 2024 for our Newcastle corporate team. Despite some uncertainty arising from a change in government and a forthcoming budget, the prospects for the second half of 2024 look positive, with some big transactions in the pipeline. This is a credit to the team, who continue to deliver great results for clients, to our intermediary friends, who get us involved with their clients, but most importantly, to our fantastic clients who continue to trust us with their strategically important transactions.
🚨 NEWS: Weightmans report most successful year to date, following the announcement of its 23/24 financial results, continuing the firm's strong growth trajectory 💹 The firm’s full 12 months’ trading produced over £140m in income (12% increase on 22/23), meaning that all staff will benefit from a bonus of almost £3,000 each. John Schorah, Managing Partner, said: “I am very proud of all the hard work and contributions made by our people to make this our most successful year ever. Their talent and unwavering support for each other continues to deliver great results for our clients and places the business in a very strong position as we make progress towards being a Top 30 law firm."
As our South Asian Heritage Month celebrations draw to a close, we reflect on the diverse ways we commemorated this month-long event in all our offices. South Asian Heritage Month acknowledges and explores the cultural richness and connections between the UK and South Asia. The profound influence of South Asian culture on Britain, evident in areas like food, attire, music, language, and the overall ambiance of our towns and cities, has significantly contributed to our nation's diverse fabric. In our tribute to South Asian Heritage Month, we orchestrated a live panel discussion, bringing together colleagues from different departments. They generously shared their unique perspectives and experiences of being South Asian in the corporate world. In addition to this, we organised a plethora of events across all our offices, fostering a sense of togetherness through delicious food and delightful company.
We are delighted to announce that we have officially launched our LGBTQ+ network, Proud2be. This firm wide initiative provides a nurturing environment where LGBTQ+ individuals and straight allies can unite, support one another and socialise. Our offices celebrated the launch with themed treats and delightful decorations. Take a look below!
On August 16, more than 60 team members from various offices rose to the formidable Edale Skyline Challenge to raise funds for our office charities. This challenge, a 24 mile/38 km circular ridge walk, takes participants across some of the Peak District's most scenic hilltops. Our brave hikers climbed a total height of roughly 1,600m/5,272 ft, all within a 12-hour window. As a firm we have raised £20,470.24 so far for our office charities, what a fantastic achievement, we could not be prouder of Team Weightmans! This achievement truly exemplifies our #SeeThePossiblity mindset.
