Last week Welcome Break took part in the annual KFC Colonel Cook Off, bringing together our three regional winners for an unforgettable final. We were delighted to crown Archie from our Rotherham MSA as this year’s champion. Archie will now go on to represent Welcome Break at the KFC Grand Final this August at KFC’s UK headquarters in Woking. A huge congratulations to Archie, and a big well done to our fantastic runners up, Kiruba from Birchanger Green and Tomi from Hopwood Park. 👏 Incredible effort from everyone involved.
Lights, Camera, Action! Our Summer Ball was a five-star event 🎬 Yesterday, Hollywood icons from your favourite films stepped off the big screen and onto the dance floor at our annual Welcome Break Summer Ball. From box-office hits to cult classics, it was a blockbuster night to support the Welcome Break Charitable Fund. A huge thank you to our brilliant guests and partners who attended, sponsored, and donated so generously. And to our fantastic People team for organising and running the night! All the money raised will go to the Welcome Break Charitable Fund, which helps support vital work with our charity partners Macmillan Cancer Support, National Emergencies Trust, and local community grants. 💚
Last week our Head Office teams went Back to the Floor in Operations! 🔙 Back to the Floor is an annual initiative where team members stationed in our Vantage Court Head Office venture out to our site and hotel locations across the UK to experience a day in the life of our frontline teams. It’s a brilliant opportunity to gain a better understanding of how our operations run, hold insightful conversations with our teams, and gather feedback on how we can make things even better moving forward. This year, we were able to cover more locations than ever before across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Thank you to everyone who made the day such a success! ⭐
Kate’s Cabin proudly welcomes two new unit additions! 🎉 Yesterday we officially opened a brand‑new Starbucks Drive‑Thru, giving travellers on the A1 even more choice, convenience and a great place to recharge on their journey. Just a few hours later, we celebrated another major milestone, the launch of Welcome Break’s first ever Taco Bell Drive‑Thru! A huge step forward in expanding our food offering and bringing even more variety to the site. A massive thank you to everyone involved for delivering this project not only to an exceptional standard, but also 14 days ahead of schedule. Wishing both operational teams every success as they welcome their first customers ☕️🌮
The first Taco Bell in Northern Ireland is now open! 🌮 Yesterday, we welcomed Taco Bell to our Applegreen Lisburn North location, marking the brand’s debut in Northern Ireland. Customers travelled far and wide to celebrate our opening day with us. From spin to win merch and free products to sampling, it was a brilliant way to mark such a special milestone. A huge thank you to everyone who made it happen, and wishing the team every success as they kick off this new chapter ✨💜
We’re pleased to share an exciting update from our hybrid units, The Good Breakfast and Chopstix 🎉 We’ve recently completed the installation of a new self‑service kiosk, marking another step forward in enhancing the convenience, choice, and overall experience available to our visitors. The kiosks are now available at the following locations: Corley South, Oxford, Hopwood, Birchanger Green and Charnock Richard. A big thank you to everyone involved in making this happen.
