Mission Our view is that it’s part of human nature to care about making people happy. We all care about this deeply. We call this Seva. Seva means having a big, warm heart. Seva means we don’t just serve people, we take them in and look after them to the very best of our ability – guests and team alike.
Description Dishoom is proud to be recognised as one of the best places to work in hospitality. Looking after people is at the core of what we do, and we work hard to make life at Dishoom the best it can be.
Alongside running busy sites with large teams, we also believe in doing more. Each year, we pledge to plant a tree for every Dishoom-walle, continue to break down barriers through our cultural events, and support children through our Meal for a Meal initiative. As of this year, we have donated 30 million meals (and counting) to children in the UK and India, with every Dishoomwalle contributing 55 meals per shift to this cause.
Since 2010, our cafés have celebrated all of the food and drink of Bombay. We currently have cafés across London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow and soon to be Leeds! Our cafés are bustling spaces where people come together to break down barriers and share in a love of Bombay food and culture.
We have Permit Rooms in Brighton, Cambridge, Oxford, Portobello Road London and Liverpool. Our bar-cafés are lively spaces, woven into the fabric of their local communities. Our genuine love of people means you’ll always be welcomed with real warmth.
Plus, we have kitchens to ensure our guests can enjoy our food at home!
We are committed to creating a supportive and rewarding environment for everyone at Dishoom, and we deeply believe in developing our people — last year alone, we celebrated 326 promotions. From day one, new Dishoom-walles are carefully paired with a dedicated Welcome-walle who supports them through their first few weeks and beyond.
There are plenty of opportunities to flourish here at Dishoom, with Growth programmes designed to support you at every stage of your career journey. Whether you’re a junior team member ready to take the next step, or an aspiring Babu (Manager) working on the floor or in the kitchen, our award-winning development programmes are here to help shape and support the next generation of leaders. All in all, we invest deeply in our people — and it’s this that helps our teams stay, grow, and thrive together.
since 1992, we’ve been doing things our own way. we’re wagamama. inspired by fast paced japanese ramen bars, built on fresh food, bold flavour and a different way of doing things
our purpose is simple. we’re born to feed the people, from bowl to soul
and how we show up every day is just as simple. feed yourself, feed others. because great hospitality starts with people who feel looked after, supported and ready to bring their best
we don’t do beige. we don’t do corporate scripts. we back personality over perfection, ideas over ego, and teams who have each other’s backs
that’s how we’ve grown into something pretty special. and why our people are always at the heart of it
