Pros
I have enjoyed my first 2 months at the Business Development Centre. The first 2 weeks of training were engaging and fun. I entered the job role with very little knowledge of the industry but the training enabled me to learn efficiently and settle into my role. The Breaks and Lunches allocated are fair with fridges and freezes provided for lunch storage as well as Free tea and coffee. There is lots of on going support once out of training to help you achieve targets and the office itself is a positive work environment, There is friendly competition/ prizes within the office based on sales targets which keeps things fresh and engaging.
Cons
I feel as though the sickness policy is a little harsh on employees as you are docked commission for each occasion of sickness. I understand commission is on the discretion of the business and not salary based however I feel employee mental and physical wellbeing is important and the first instance of sickness over say a 3 month period unpunished would be fair considering genuine sickness can't be helped and the commission has been earnt whilst actively contributing to the business. I also feel like I would benefit from being able to source my own office chair as I have physical injuries which are aggravated by bad posture but I am unsure there is an option to review your work space/ occupational health assessment.
