Pros
The company has a strong market presence and can provide exposure to a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
Cons
Within the team, the culture was heavily impacted by peer behaviour rather than leadership structure. There was little tolerance for mistakes, creating an atmosphere where employees felt afraid to get things wrong instead of being encouraged to learn and improve. Errors were often highlighted in a way that felt disproportionate and demoralising.
One dominant individual within the team consistently created an unhealthy competitive environment, often elevating themselves while undermining others. This behaviour significantly affected morale and contributed to high turnover within the team. Despite concerns being raised, there was limited visible action taken to address the situation.
What was particularly disappointing was that this environment existed within HR. You would expect a people-focused function to model supportive, psychologically safe behaviour — however, the reality was the opposite, which makes the situation even more concerning.
On a broader level, internal progression felt limited. Even when roles became available, there was little confidence that internal candidates would be genuinely considered, which impacted motivation and long-term commitment.
