Pros

Regular communication through weekly updates and monthly catch-ups during the probation period ensures you're supported. Friendly and collaborative team environment. Encouraging signs of diversity and inclusion across the organization. Transparent leadership with monthly all-staff meetings that share company updates, recognize contributions, and welcome new joiners. Competitive pay and solid benefits package. Flexible hybrid working model (e.g., 2 days in-office). Fast-growing company with opportunities to work on new technologies—great for upskilling and career growth.

Cons

As a relatively young company (~10 years), some internal processes like documentation and cross-department workflows are still evolving.

Good aspects but be very aware of some troubling issues

Pros

The vast majority of the staff are pleasant, helpful, and nice to be around. The workload can be high however the very senior management are supportive of a good work life balance which allows leaving at a reasonable time, usually 5.30ish and provide support when required. The subject matter is extremely rewarding and interesting and a good place to have real value adding effects to the renewable energy generation sector. You can engage with CEO level and have good opportunities to get involved with different areas of the firm. The pay is ok to good, the benefits are slacking for a private sector firm.

Cons

All potential job seekers should be extremely careful about joining this firm. There is a nasty culture among middle management to borderline bully members of staff, demean staff and be aggressive to staff they have taken a disliking to, rather than be professional and work with the individual in an adult manner. It is very normal to humiliate one another, shout each down and openly show dislike to another’s points of view. An individual’s view can be called stupid or “dumb” at meetings and over the office floor, the rolling of eyes along with obvious negative body language in addition to outright shouting at times is very normal. This has resulted in employees not showing the normal helpful challenge and ownership over tasks which can help the tax payers save money, instead most keep quiet to avoid conflict with the key middle management who are leading this negative culture and environment. Perhaps the biggest issue with the firm is that there have been numerous official complaints made to HR and heads of departments and there has been no action over the last 18 months. The heads of department simply make excuses for the behaviour and or ignore the behaviour. This has effectively condoned the at times disgusting behaviour and allowed it to continue. This has resulted in a high staff turnover and a very demotivated workforce, especially within the commercial team. The above is unfortunately a daily occurrence within some areas of the firm, while other areas are great and do not seems to have the current culture, the commercial team is by far the worst.

Thank you for taking the time review your experience with us. We are pleased that you feel LCCC is a great place to work, and that you enjoy working with your colleagues. They’re great bunch of people indeed, and all work towards a common and sustainable goal. We also pride ourselves on promoting a healthy work-life balance, and since you have written your review, we have developed our benefits package to include enhanced maternity and paternity leave and redefined our flexible working portfolio to deliver more benefits around employee well-being and work life balance. As you’re aware, we value our behaviours of excellence, integrity and independence. We are surprised by your comments on our management culture, as the environment you’ve described does not align with our corporate culture. We’re committed to a positive, inclusive workplace for everyone, and are always open to discuss challenges and concerns with our employees. Since your review, we have restructured the previous Commercial Team and have ensured that company values, behaviours and culture are at the forefront of everything we do. This is achieved by measuring company culture annually via our engagement survey and we also ensure that cultural competencies are measured via our performance management process. Our senior leadership and Heads of teams take allegations of behaviour contrary to that required by the company very seriously by reinforcing appropriate behaviours and outlining what ‘good looks like’ at LCCC. In fact, our latest engagement survey highlights that 77% of employees are proud to work for LCCC and 65% of employees would recommend LCCC as ‘a good place to work’. We are not complacent though and the leadership is continually working with the business to ensure we continue to see an upward trend in these results. We value your feedback and I’m pleased to see that you are still part of our team and will continue to be an alumni of LCCC. If you would like to discuss your feedback further, please do get in touch with me directly. Regards, Cynthia Duodu

Poor experience

Pros

You can do lots of things to build your CV as no one really cares what you are really doing.

Cons

Awful managers at higher levels. Dishonest- everything is for show. Senior managers live in their own world and it isn’t aligned to reality. Very poor management skills making me feel embarrassed to be a manager. The organisation thrives on mayhem and chaos.
