Shameful state in operations

Pros

Frontline staff are so professional and go the extra mile for those they support

Cons

As a veteran I WAS proud to work for the RBL, however over the last 20 months senior managers in operations, namely the ADO and Director of operations have put there own careers before the objectives and aims of the charity. Statistics twisted to suit the picture they want to portray to Trustees, and not the reality of operations and welfare services at all. A failed restructure based on the plans of the ADO and Director of ops, which exposed their lack of knowledge about the people we support! Frontline staff bullied and gaslighted by the ADO at all levels, culture of fear in operations staff. Staffing and morale at an all time low, under resourced, unappreciated and overworked. Volunteers and members disregarded and treated as second class.

Pros

Great team although they have mostly all left due to a failed welfare redesign which saw huge amounts of time, resource and morale wasted.

Cons

The regional operations side of the organisation is in a complete mess and the subsequent pressure on staff is untenable and people have voted with their feet.

Pros

Staff on the ground are committed, loyal and hard working. It’s amazing to make such a difference to the lives of our Armed Forces.

Cons

A completely disorganised, poor organisation at the moment who seem to have lost sight of the reality on the ground and what they are trying to achieve. Staff leaving left right and centre because they are not valued and don’t dare speak up for fear of repercussions- it’s unhealthy and toxic. On the ground the staff are dedicated, hard working and loyal- beyond that and higher up the chain I’m not sure what is going on. I was sad to leave as genuinely loved supporting Veterans and making a difference. I Feel sad for those I have left behind, it’s wonderful to be with a new Employer where I am valued and looked after and have a much better work/life balance. Good Luck to The Legion I just hope the beneficiaries don’t suffer in the meantime!
