'Music if life... that's why our hearts have beats' - and for Octavious, it couldn't be more true. Previously living in a hospital setting, Octavious found himself struggling with his mental health and completing everyday life skills. But after his move to King Edwards Grove, finding himself sat at a piano, it was very clear Octavious never forgot his love for music. Composing beautiful symphonies and concertos to elevate his mood, Octavious was supported to buy a piano of his own - and is in his element. Now thriving with his living skills and playing amazing melodies to help with his mental health, it's sure to say music will always be involved. With trips planned to the orchestra and composers, you can read all about Octavious musical journey in the comments. One note at a time, Octavious is thriving.

When someone asks you how you’re doing, especially if you’re at work, you’re probably going to answer with a generic ‘fine’ instead of sharing your real thoughts and feelings. And when you ask someone how they are today, you’re probably expecting a fine in return, too. With today being Time to Talk Day, we’ve been having a chat with some of our colleagues this week, discussing how the same words can have so many different, hidden meanings. They’ve also shared what they’re probably feeling when they reply to say that they’re fine, alright and even good. Come and read more: Let’s talk, listen and change lives. #TimeToTalkDay #TeamConsensus
Ever had a bright idea, or a spark of genius? That’s exactly what Samuel Jones had back in the late 19th century, when he took his innovative idea to the bosses at Swan Vesta matches. A simple design improvement would see the sandpaper repositioned on the trusty old matchbox to improve the customer experience. Turns out he also made the company a lot of money along the way – earning him the title of The Matchbox Millionaire. And it’s true at Consensus, too. The best ideas for enhancing the workplace and making the lives of those we support amazing – they all come from our phenomenal team members. Colleagues who dedicate their time, experience, and passion to the work that they do. That’s why we’ve launch The Matchbox – an opportunity for colleagues to submit their ideas, big and small, which will be put forward to a panel each month (affectionately named the Matchbox Megahuddle). Seeing people’s ideas land in the Matchbox is fantastic – but what we’re really looking forward to is watching those be brought to life before our very eyes. #TeamConsensus #GreatPlaceToWork #TheMatchbox
