We've rolled out rapid Covid-19 testing for our colleagues across our supply chain, retail and contact centre sites in high risk areas. At Dixons Carphone, nothing is more important than the safety and wellbeing of our colleagues, customers and communities, and this initiative builds on the robust safety measures we already have in place across all our sites. This investment forms part of our strategy to keep millions of people connected during this vital lockdown and do our bit to help tackle the spread of the virus.
Do you know someone who’d love to learn, earn and launch an amazing career? Now’s the perfect time to find out more about life as an apprentice in our business, as National Apprenticeship Week kicks off today.
We’re incredibly proud of the way Team DC has come through for customers over the last 12 months. And we’re dedicated to looking after our capable and committed colleagues as the pandemic continues. With that in mind, we’ve invested £150k in Mental Health First Aid training as we move into 2021. It’s all about keeping everyone safe, happy and well. #WeWinTogether
We’re all about helping everyone enjoy amazing technology – and that goes for our colleagues too. To help children who don’t have their own computer, parents across our business can now borrow a Chromebook on loan. The computers will be display models from a local store. This way, home schooling is less of a struggle and kids can continue to learn.
Looking after our colleagues is more important than ever during difficult times. And it’s particularly important today – Blue Monday. That’s why we’ve made sure that everyone in our business has a free, six-month subscription to Calm: the UK’s number one app for lowering stress and boosting wellbeing.
We love helping colleagues to develop their careers. But progression’s not limited to a particular field or department – you can also move across the business. Take Rebecca, who was originally a Business Advisor in our Retail team. Now she’s training to be a Supply Chain First Line Manager. And the transition went like clockwork: "Moving to Supply Chain at the Newark Campus has been such an exciting time in my career; there are so many opportunities and it’s great to be a part of the ever-growing Campus. The induction ensured I was fully informed and settled in, and the managers have all been so helpful and welcoming. I've really developed my management skills, but the biggest thing I’ve learnt is that there's always someone willing to help. To anyone considering joining us, I’d say go for it! Bring new ideas, innovate and be the future of Dixons Carphone." Want the scope to develop in countless different directions? Join us – see our latest roles: https://careers.dixonscarphone.com
In less than 24 hours, it will be 2021, and we're looking forward to the year ahead! Happy New Year to you all.
This year, our world was turned upside down by Covid-19, along with everyone else’s. But as Melissa, our Group Director for Talent, Leadership & Learning, has spotted, 2020 has actually been an opportunity to change and look to the future. “We found that the mindset, behaviours and ways of working that emerged in response to the crisis were the very ones that were needed to accelerate our business transformation and increase colleague engagement,” she says. Citing closer teamwork, which resulted in innovations such as ShopLive, Melissa believes there’s been positive progress: “We committed to harnessing collaborative, agile and more flexible ways of working, helping them endure into the future, and identifying ways of working that no longer served us.”
It’s that time of year again – and we need you to make the festive season special by getting amazing tech to customers. If you’re a Driver or an operations professional, bring your talent to Team DC.
