We recently shared the latest update on Enfield Council’s “Investing in Enfield” plan, which outlines substantial progress across the borough’s five strategic priorities: Clean & Green places; Strong, Healthy & Safe communities; Thriving Children & Young People; More & Better Homes; and an Economy that works for everyone. Key highlights: A 19% reduction in crime in Upper Edmonton & Edmonton Green under the Clear, Hold, Build programme. A 27% reduction in council carbon emissions, creation of 40 ha new woodland, and 26 School Streets introduced to improve safety and air quality. Delivery of 560 new council homes, securing £5 million to make 400+ homes more energy efficient, and achieving a top ‘C1’ rating from the Regulator of Social Housing. Looking ahead we’re committed to planting a further 30 hectares of woodland, opening a new mental-health and wellbeing hub, investing in cycling and walking routes, and supporting community projects through the Meridian Water Community Chest. The Council's CEO, Perry Scott, has expressed his thanks to all the council officers, partners and community stakeholders whose dedication is driving this progress.
