NFU Mutual wins Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award for 11th consecutive year. The Award is given to businesses with the most engaged workplace cultures in the world, where employees feel valued, heard, and equipped to do their best work. NFU Mutual is just one of a handful of businesses worldwide - and the only UK-based employer - to have won the Exceptional Workplace Award for more than 10 years. Gallup's research is based on the most comprehensive workplace study ever conducted, taking into account team engagement and performance of employees at almost 250 organisations across 9 countries. Kenny Graves, HR Director at NFU Mutual, explains that an empowered and engaged workforce is central to the insurer's strategic ambitions: "NFU Mutual's track record of providing excellent personal, local service, is down to the fact that our employees and everyone in our Agency Network truly care about their customers. That's why we've made being a great place to work one of our three strategic objectives, and engagement is a key part of this. "We're delighted to be the only company in the UK to have received the Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award eleven years in a row, and we will continue to support our staff to keep the streak going in 2027.

Kenny Graves, HR Director, said: “This recognition reflects what makes NFU Mutual such a great place to work; a business that supports everyone to be their best, with opportunities to learn and grow. Our aim is to create a world-class employee experience, where our people can do the best work of their careers.”
NFU Mutual has been ranked, 6th out of 50 on Glassdoor’s ‘Best Places to Work UK 2026’, the highest-ranking insurer on the list. Employees, who have completed a review, helped achieve our highest ratings to date of 4.5/5 stars with 89% recommending us as a great place to work and 91% approving of Nick Turner as CEO. This is especially important, at a time when 70% of candidates review Glassdoor before applying for a role. Kenny Graves, HR Director, had this to say about the award: “Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work awards celebrate employers who deliver truly exceptional employee experiences. To rank 6th in the whole of the UK, and to be recognised alongside organisations known for industry leading culture and development; showcases the impact of our continued investment in wellbeing, leadership, inclusivity, and career growth”. “This year’s ranking is another sign of progress as we work towards our commitment to be a great place to work. Together, we are creating and sustaining a positive culture, which embraces diversity and where people strive to be the best they can be, in an environment which provides an outstanding employee experience and opportunities to learn, develop and deliver the best work of all of our careers”. “The fact that our employees and external bodies have such a positive view of our culture and our investment in career development and leadership, makes me incredibly proud”.
Women in Finance We’re proud to be a signatory to HM Treasury’s Women in Finance Charter, which asks financial services firms to commit to implementing four key industry actions to improve gender diversity at senior levels in the workplace. We signed the Charter in October 2018 with 36% female representation in senior management. We set our target to reach 38% by the end of September 2021 and successfully achieved it. We set a new target to reach 40% by September 2025 and exceeded our goal with 40.5%, which reflects our continued commitment to gender balance and inclusive leadership. Our focus now is on maintaining, growing and embedding this level of representation, with a minimum of 40% female representation in our senior management roles, with gender diversity remaining a consistent and integral part of our leadership ambitions. Achieving balance and driving change requires sustained action, an inclusive mindset, and meaningful engagement, and we’re committed to each of these.
At NFU Mutual, we believe that diversity and inclusion is fundamental to creating a world class employee experience where our people can do the best work of their careers. Our commitment to creating an inclusive workplace and aligning with our strategic objective of being a Great Place to Work where everyone feels valued is not just a goal, it's a core part of who we want to be. We recognise that developing a diverse workforce brings fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and a stronger connection to our customers and employees. In 2023, our Talent Acquisition team embarked on a significant project to enhance our recruitment processes, ensuring they are more inclusive and designed to attract a wide range of talented individuals from diverse backgrounds. Importantly, this project is ongoing, reflecting our dedication to continually improving and evolving our approach to recruitment. We're proud to share that these efforts were rewarded with the Silver Standard TIDE Award for 2025.
At NFU Mutual, we believe that a truly inclusive workplace is one where every individual’s strengths and differences are celebrated. We are delighted that our Neurodiversity Network was recently honoured as the ‘Neurodiversity Inclusivity Champion of the Year’ at the Insurance Post D&I in Insurance Awards 2025. Accepting the award were our dedicated co-chairs, Karl Collier and Warren Poyner, whose leadership has helped shape a culture where neurodiversity is not just acknowledged, but embraced.
We are proud to have won Which? Insurance Brand of the Year 2025, making us the only insurer ever to win four years in a row.
