Spartan Clive Hoadley has had quite the career-changer journey - from owning his own landscape gardening company, to working as a Data Engineer at Sparta! Read his story: "I work as a data engineering consultant for Sparta Global. Before my current job, I ran a business as a landscape gardener. I decided to change paths and picked software engineering because I excelled in this field at college, so it seemed like a good transition. I am very determined to find solutions to any problems I face or research any topic I don’t completely understand. I think the essential skills you need in this field are Python, NoSQL & SQL, data analytics, cloud services, problem-solving, presentation skills, and the ability to communicate and convey your work to others. My advice? Take the phrase “you get as much as you put in” to heart. Don’t burn yourself out, but don’t let yourself slack off either."

Findings show that youth unemployment rose faster between spring and autumn 2020 than at any point since the 2008 financial crisis. By completing our youth employability survey, you are helping us to understand the immediate and longer-term impacts of the coronavirus outbreak on the employment prospects of young people. Your responses will be used to compile a substantial report on how under-served communities are currently being supported through the greatest career challenges by employers, and what changes must be made to become a society that better supports social mobility. This survey will take an average of 6 minutes and for every completion, we will donate £5 to national social mobility charity, Career Ready. Click below to get started:
