Earlier this week, a group of our London colleagues volunteered with CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME to hand out food parcels to those in need on London's streets. We'd like to thank 'Charity Begins at Home' for allowing us to see the wonderful work you do first-hand and how you embody your ethos of treating everyone with dignity and kindness.

Thank you to the twenty-four colleagues from our Reading office who recently volunteered with Cowshed, spending their day sorting through and cleaning donations 🙌❤️ The Cowshed is a charity that provides support to individuals of all backgrounds during times of personal crisis. They provide good quality, cleaned, and ironed clothes and other essential items free of charge to those in need. At XPS, as part of our Corporate Volunteering Policy, everyone is entitled to 8 hours of paid volunteering activity a year. It was great to see so many of our colleagues get involved with the 4 volunteering days we did with Cowshed! One of our colleagues, Kara Wilson, described it as a rewarding experience: “It was great to spend a day volunteering and realising just how lucky we are to have a job and an income. Day to day, being swept up in our own worlds, it’s easy to lose sight of the fact that others nearby are relying on the generosity of others, and being able to help was really rewarding. We cleaned shoes, sorted donations, checked safety of toys, ate cake....it was a great day that those of us volunteering will hold fond memories of.”
We were inspired and a little bit starstruck after listening to Baroness Floella Benjamin talk as part of our International Women's Day 2025 celebrations! Sharing how she overcame adversity through many obstacles in her life, Floella talked to us about how we all can make a difference and why it's so important to keep smiling. Thank you to Floella for inspiring us all and to the XPS Women's Network for hosting the event! "That was incredible! I was smiling through the whole time - what an inspirational lady!", said attendee Felicity Allaway, XPS Learning and Development Administrator.
We were thrilled to have Sandra Johnson FCMI join us at our mid-year mentoring event in March! In the interactive session, Sandra shared the invaluable benefits of mentoring and some of the challenges too. Sandra highlighted the importance of reflection, feedback and taking ownership in our career development, and the role that mentoring can play in achieving our goals. Thank you, Sandra, for an inspiring event! We're excited to see what the second consecutive year of the 'My XPS, My Mentoring' programme can achieve.
We’re delighted to win the Growth Business of the Year award at the PLC awards. Thank you to the PLC awards, the judges and our people!

Happy Lunar New Year from XPS! As our colleague Charlotte Yuen says, "恭喜發財! Gong Xi Fa Cai! The Lunar New Year is all about family and happiness (and food!) so we welcome everyone to join us in celebratory spirit. May the New Year bring you success and peace, to help you navigate through life's challenges and opportunities." 2025 is the year of the Snake. In Chinese culture, the snake symbolises wisdom, transformation and personal growth. It invites us to embrace self-awareness and growth, shedding what no longer serves us. We've been busy celebrating by sharing recipes, stories and traditions that make this time special. It's been a wonderful reminder of the importance of tradition, the value in diversity and the celebrations that have the power to bring people together and unite us.
