Pros

- Training and Development widely available - Flexible working approach and good realistic understanding of the work/life balance - Bi-Annual Employee Satisfaction surveys which are acted upon - Generous Pension Scheme

Cons

- Opportunities for progression can be limited due to long service of employees - Employee Benefit of staff rate at hotels has been reduced over the years (changed to flexible pricing discount) and not as much as a benefit as it once was, especially in major cities

IHG Hotels and Resorts Response

Hello Thanks for sharing your views with us. It’s great that you’ve felt the benefit of our flexible approach to working – we understand that our people can perform at their best when they feel valued and have a balanced home and work life. We have a huge focus on personal development and learning. After all, if you grow professionally, we also benefit from having a happy, skilled and knowledgeable colleague! You’re correct that within a happy workforce people tend to stay in their roles for longer. So, we do recognise that people can’t always progress in our organisation as quickly as they (and we!) would like to. However, we’re a huge global company - so there's plenty of international opportunities to take advantage of. Thanks again for your feedback Chris The Employer Brand Team

Pros

Friendly and helpful staff. Supportive Leaders (mostly). Occasional travel. Freedom to share ideas that may drive sales for the Account Directors.

Cons

Not a lot of room to grow as sellers tend to hang on to the roles until retirement. Revenue goals can be a reach.
