Agincare has proudly partnered with Southwark Council to increase nursing care and reablement capacity in the borough with the opening of a new specialist unit at our Waterside Care Home in Peckham. The Avon Unit was officially opened by Cllr Evelyn Akoto, Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing at Southwark Council, and Agincare Chief Executive Raina Summerson on 7 November 2023. The unit currently has 17 bedrooms and spacious communal areas to support both people in reablement pathways and those who need to be discharged from hospital for further assessment, or to prevent hospital admission. Since opening the unit has made a major impact on delayed hospital discharges with over 80% of people who stayed in the unit returned home without the need for additional ongoing support. Thank you to everyone who joined us for the opening. #proudtocare #reablement

Meet Yasmin, one of our Field Care Supervisors. "Since starting with Agincare 2 years ago, I have progressed from being a care worker, to a senior care worker, and now onto a Field Care Supervisor. Agincare has supported me to progress my career – from having great management and colleagues around me to support completing my apprenticeship. I am hoping to become a Deputy Manager in time, and I am confident Agincare will continue to support my journey as they always have.”
