We know that the retail sector as a whole is facing challenges as a result of the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, & we are doing everything we can to support our colleagues through this period. This was certainly a consideration for our latest pay review & as a result, in April 2022, we increased all salaries companywide by a min of 3%. In addition, based on our record breaking 2021/22 financial success, we paid our biggest ever bonuses to store colleagues & introduced significant increases in profit bonuses for office colleagues & all store management. We recently announced a one-off £500 payment in October to help with rising living costs & will continue our annual tradition of paying an extra weeks' salary at Christmas. While August's ONS figures show sales 1.6% down across the sector, Beaverbrooks is bucking the trend on the high street which has enabled us to continue to prioritise our colleagues & safeguard the future of the business. Our YTD sales are up 25% on 2021/22, despite the current market challenges which is something we are both incredibly proud of, & thankful for.
We're incredibly proud & delighted to say that we won the ‘Employer of the Year’ award once again at the 30th anniversary Retail Jeweller UK Jewellery Awards last week! Our people are at the heart of everything we do, and it was a truly special occasion to celebrate such an achievement with our wonderful colleagues. Congratulations to all other winners – what an amazing evening. #UKJA22 #EmployeroftheYear
Today is International Day of Charity and to celebrate, we’re shining a spotlight on how we make a positive difference at Beaverbrooks. Our purpose is to enrich lives, which simply means making a positive difference to the world we live in, and one of the ways we do this is through our charity work: We donate 20 per cent of retained profits to charity and since the year 2000 we’ve donated in excess of £18million to over 750 charities. We continued this support over the course of the pandemic, donating over £2million in 2021/22 Our colleagues are given company time - two days per year - to volunteer in their own local communities and help a charity of their choice, as well as £100 to donate to a charity close to their hearts 45% of our Beaverbrooks colleagues support a charity of their choice straight from their pay through our Payroll Giving scheme - the national average is 6% so we’re very proud! We support multiple fundraising events, including the annual Beaverbrooks Blackpool 10k Fun Run and Bike Ride, raising much-needed funds for local charities. Find out more at...
There were double celebrations on our Web Fulfilment department last week when Bev celebrated a wonderful 35 years with Beaverbrooks, and her own birthday. Huge congratulations, Bev! 🍾 #longservice #35years #happybirthday
At Beaverbrooks our people are the lifeblood of our business and we truly believe in looking after each and every one of our colleagues. We operate a culture of achievement and have always believed that a balance of recognition and reward is important in motivating and thanking our teams. Sometimes it’s the little things that make a difference, so last week our MD Anna took some time out to personally serve tasty ice creams to over 100 of our office colleagues. It’s fair to say these went down very well and it was an absolute pleasure to see our hard-working colleagues enjoying a little treat on a sunny day. #IceCream #WorkPerks #Business #TeamMotivation
We're absolutely delighted to announce another record-breaking year for @Beaverbrooks following the release of our latest accounts, with turnover at £202.4m – up 64% on 2020-2021 and 41.3% higher than our most profitable centenary year in 2019-2020. Staying true to our core values has been key to this success, putting our people first, safeguarding the future of the business and continuing to enrich lives through our charitable work – donating more than £2million via the Beaverbrooks Charitable Trust over the last financial year. We are immensely proud of our colleagues for coming together and helping to deliver a record-breaking year of sales, and thankful to our customers who have remained loyal throughout Covid and beyond. Here’s to another successful year and looking forward to seeing what the future holds for the business. You can read more on https://lnkd.in/etC7hYE2
We’re incredibly proud of our @Beaverbrooks colleagues who celebrated passing their JET 2 (Jewellery Education Training) diplomas last week, after obtaining their qualifications during the pandemic. To mark their achievements, we hosted 42 of our students at an exclusive ceremony at the Goldsmiths Hall in London and an after party at the Savage Garden Rooftop Bar at the Hilton Hotel. The JET 2 qualification is a prestigious accreditation for professional jewellers and includes management education, jewellery valuation and in-depth knowledge of gemstones and precious metals. As a proud longstanding member of the @NationalAssociationofJewellers Committee, and our Chairman, Mark Adlestone the former chair of the association, it’s fantastic to have their ongoing support to make events like this possible. Congratulations to our colleagues for all your hard work, and despite the delay, we hope you enjoyed your well-deserved celebrations!
Congratulations to Carol-Anne who recently completed a charity challenge by walking 100 miles in June to raise money for Cancer Research UK (CRUK). The amount raised will be now matched by the Beaverbrooks Charitable Trust 🥰 #enrichinglives #charityfundraising
We'd like to congratulate Carol on her 20 year Beaverbrooks birthday! Carol is a much-loved member of the Replenishment Team and we feel very lucky to have her. #longservice #20years #beaverbrooksfamily
We are proud to announce that our MD, Anna Blackburn and retail director, Simon Smith are now both ambassadors for the Retail Trust – a charity which focuses on caring for and protecting the lives of people working in our industry. The Retail Trust ambassador programme allows key figures in the industry to share their passion for putting people of the heart of what they do, which aligns perfectly with our people-first ethos and core purpose of ‘enriching lives’. Bringing over 55 years of combined retail experience, as ambassadors, we are excited to be raising awareness of the great work of the Retail Trust. For more information visit:
