We are proud to announce that we have received a Chief of Defence Logistics and Support (CDLS) Commendation for the UK Ministry of Defence and DHL apprentice swap we ran last year! Laura Louise Malcolm, Head of Next Generation Talent, accepted the commendation on behalf of DHL Supply Chain at Whitehall last week. This innovative collaboration involved a week-long swap between DHL apprentice, Ethan and RAF apprentice, Chris, providing invaluable insights into logistics operations across both organisations. The initiative not only produced engaging social media content aimed at attracting young people to consider a career in logistics but also reinforced our partnership with the Generation Logistics campaign, which seeks to shift perceptions of the logistics sector for the next generation. The CDLS Commendation recognises the outstanding commitment of individuals and teams within the UK Ministry of Defence who enhance operational capabilities. This year, industry organisations were also included, highlighting the vital partnership between defence and industry and showcasing the power of collaboration in achieving shared goals. MP Jo White has launched the 2025 Bassetlaw Summer School at our DHL Supply Chain site in Manton Wood site, welcoming 32 students aged 15-16 from across the constituency. This initiative supports the transition from GCSEs to further education by connecting students to employers and showcasing the diverse opportunities available in the workforce. During the visit, the students toured the DHL facility, learning about how the warehouse operates, on-site automation, and what it’s like to work in logistics. MP for Bassetlaw, Jo White, said, “I am delighted that this year’s Summer School programme is off to such a strong start, following our visit to DHL’s Manton Wood site. It’s really important that Bassetlaw students have a good awareness of local career opportunities and it was great to see them so engaged from the outset.”
