Our winner of 'Site Colleague of the Year' was Head Pastry Chef, Margo Kujawa. Margo was described by our judges as an inspiration to all who work alongside her and they were inundated with examples of Margo’s impact within the business and particularly by the managing partner of their client. Margo is an asset both to the business and her site with her reach now expanding to supporting acquiring new business alongside the sales team. Not to mention her incredible dedication to ‘bake-off the professionals’ which overtook Margo’s life for 6 months! Here's a link to a video of Margo baking for International Women’s Day, 2024.
Our You Made a Difference winner at this year’s Elior Awards for Excellence, Michael Hands, is a terrific example of someone who really goes above and beyond! Michael is our Chef Manager at our Anchor, Lanehurst Gardens site and has made a huge difference to the resident experience at his site, most recently during the trial of the Mobii interactive projection system, designed to allow residents to take part and socialise in a wide range of activities together. By coordinating, demonstrating, encouraging and joining in himself with various activities, Michael's actions are helping to ensure a wonderful experience for our residents, particularly those living with dementia. Well done Michael on your success at this year’s awards. Michael’s story is a unique one but there are many other ways our colleagues make a difference, day in and day out. The You Made a Difference (YMAD) scheme is designed to thank and acknowledge colleagues for delivering exceptional service and generally going above and beyond! Issuing a YMAD voucher is a great way to say ‘thank you’ for excellent customer service, great food, client feedback, workplace standards, marketing/promotions, team spirit and general contribution. Every month, 4 winners in each division receive a £25 shopping voucher and next month it could be you so to find out more about the scheme please speak with your Line Manager.

At Elior UK, we're proud to be part of WiHTL - Diversity in Hospitality, Travel and Leisure's Collaboration Community who are striving to create inclusive cultures for all. We also recognise how gaining a better understanding of our organisation’s EDI status can help us accelerate our own pace of change. So we've participated in WiHTL's unique EDI Maturity Curve Framework, aimed at assessing progress with an accreditation across five dimensions: organisation, employee journey, stakeholders, leadership and impact. The results are in and we're delighted to have been awarded 'Strategic Silver' on the curve, recognising us as an organisation where EDI is a strategic priority for our leadership team and one where inclusion is embedded throughout the employee and customer experience. #diversityandinclusion #equalopportunity #equity #equality

A Lifetime of Enrichment Our goal is to create a ‘Lifetime of Enrichment’ through a campaign dedicated to delivering social value across all age ranges, from infant to retirement. We believe that every day should be used to make a positive impact guided by three core values: - Connect: Driving a positive economic impact within local communities through an inclusive approach. - Empower: Nurturing a culture of inclusivity, improving skills, and giving back to society and local communities. - Thrive: Tackling climate change, respecting our environment and reducing waste. In January, we launched Lifetime of Enrichment with a target to deliver the average lifetime (28,835 days) of social value by 2025. Since its launch we have delivered a quarter of our target, through a combination of company led and individual colleague personal contributions. This includes driving diversity & inclusion, surplus food donations, tree planting schemes, coaching, and mentoring programmes, and other company charity activities. Colleagues have contributed through their own social value actions, such as volunteering for mental health charities, and coaching school children in sports and wellness.
Our people are our most important asset and central to providing the high-quality service that our clients expect. Our People Promise is authentic & truly represents what it’s like to work for the Company. Its aims are to help raise awareness of the Elior UK brand in the external marketplace - attracting new talent by articulating what makes us unique as an employer, and to retain our colleagues by providing a great place to work - clarifying expectations & driving consistency in terms of our colleague experience. Crucially, our People Promise is designed to be authentic but also aspirational - we recognise that we won’t get it right 100% of the time, but this promise represents the experience we ultimately aspire to deliver for our colleagues. We’ve defined our promise to value our colleagues like we value our customers, making them feel appreciated, supported and fulfilled. We aspire to do this through our focus on 8 key areas: • Offering roles to support our colleagues’ way of life • Employing people who care • Trusting our colleagues to deliver • Giving thanks for a job well done • Keeping our colleagues informed • Listening to our colleagues • Providing opportunities for growth and progression • Supporting our colleagues through life’s ups and downs Our People Promise has helped to define our culture and ‘the way we do things’. We are proud that the People Promise was shortlisted in the Workplace Culture Category at this year’s Personnel Today Awards.
