Breaking News...A Triumph for Team Elior UK — and a Celebration of Our Global Culinary Family I’m absolutely delighted to share that today our Elior UK Culinary Team has won the 2025 Elior International Culinary Competition (Elior Chef Awards) at the iconic Le Cordon Bleu Institute in Paris . What an extraordinary experience — not just the result, but the journey. Standing alongside talented Elior chefs from India, the USA, Italy, Spain, and France reminded us that we are part of something bigger: a global family connected by passion, craft, and a deep respect for food. For our team, creating a menu judged by four Michelin-starred French chefs was an honour in itself. To be recognised by them is something we will carry throughout our careers: a defining moment built on teamwork and discipline. Competitions like this don’t just showcase culinary skill. They shape us. They strengthen bonds across borders. They remind us that growth comes from challenge — and that when we invest in talent, we invest in Elior’s future. Our commitment to excellence, the camaraderie that fuels us, and the belief that these moments elevate our entire organisation remain as strong as ever. To the 2025 team — your creativity, professionalism, and passion made us champions on the international stage! Onwards, together.
🎉 Huge congratulations to our incredibly talented Elior at Work Development Chef, Iestyn Paton, for winning StrEATfood Dish of the Year at this year’s hashtag#StreEATfood Awards! 🏆 Iestyn wowed the judges with his innovative concept, Fratelli Sandos – golden folded sourdough pizza sandos filled with slow-cooked pulled pork, crisp fennel & apple slaw, roasted chilli salsa, salsa verde, and topped with aged Parmesan. 🔥🍴 We’re excited to announce that this mouthwatering concept will soon be rolling out in our sites and we can’t wait for more people to experience Iestyn’s amazing creation! Well done, Iestyn. A well-deserved win and a fantastic example of the innovation and passion in our culinary team. And for those of you that remember the classic PacMan game, why not have a try at the innovative Pizza Hunt game created alongside the concept entry. Collect the ingredients and try to avoid the rival Van. https://ow.ly/L0PU50X8inT
CONEXT is an Elior Group led initiative to give our younger colleagues a bigger voice and help shape the future of our business. Today we celebrated a milestone moment for our first cohort as each group presented their projects and ideas to Catherine Roe and our UK Leadership Team. The creativity, collaboration and innovation on show were outstanding and a reflection of what happens when colleagues from across Elior connect to share ideas and challenge the norm. A big thank you to Wendy Cleaver and Lauren Stirling, who ran the session and kept the energy high throughout, and to our BT One Braham team for the fantastic food and service which created the perfect environment to showcase innovation in action. We were also joined by Boris Derichebourg, who shared his reflections and encouragement as we continue to build a culture of innovation and connection across our business. As we celebrated the achievements of our first cohort, we also welcomed our second Conext group. We can’t wait to see what ideas and innovation they come up with next.
Jim Wealands, Executive Chef at Linklaters with Lexington Catering is levelling-up his menus by growing fresh salad leaves, microgreens, and herbs right on-site Evogro Ltd. The results are incredible: from butterfly sorrel to basil and nasturtiums, the flavour and freshness from the herbs and greens are transforming dishes across our hospitality, pastry, and staff restaurant menus. Fresh, convenient, sustainable and incredibly delicious. https://ow.ly/rNIU50X1WAc
At Elior we’re proud to champion colleagues who go above and beyond, not just in their roles, but in their communities. One great example is the fantastic work Marius Coste has been doing with his Miles for Smiles campaign, helping to raise awareness and funds for Scottish Action for Mental Health, and Clan Cancer Support. Marius has an ambitious pledge to complete 50km every week until December 2026, and always in costume! With over 800km already covered and over £1,100 raised, his dedication is making a real impact. Most recently, the campaign featured in the Celebrate Aberdeen parade, where Marius helped bring the story to life, even landing a spot on STV News National. We've included some amazing photos taken with Marius in the giant Stitch costume, accompanied on his journey by his daughter Anna. This is a brilliant example of how our values come to life through our people. Marius, thank you for your energy, creativity, and commitment. You’re helping us show how small steps, taken with purpose, can lead to big change. Last week, we held our first Elior & Hellmann’s Burger Competition, generously hosted by our friends at Unilever Food Solutions. The day kicked off with a brilliant session from Unilever's James Brown, showing how to turn veg waste into tasty dishes like fritters, chutneys, and pickles. A great reminder that reducing waste can boost both creativity and GP. In the afternoon, our talented chefs got cooking. Each created a unique burger and a surprise side dish using vegetable scraps, inspired by the morning's session. As you can see from the photos, the results were incredible. 🥇 Chris Webb (BT Snowhill) took 1st place with his bold ‘Bama Burger’, a flavourful chicken burger that impressed across the board 🥗 Emily Buckley (McCarthy & Stone, Buxton) won best side dish with a chimichurri-style salsa made entirely from scraps. Thanks to Unilever Food Solutions for hosting and everyone who contributed to make the event a success! #Sustainability #FoodInnovation #ChefLife #ZeroWaste #Elior #UnileverFoodSolutions #BurgerChallen
