This year, our Gender Equality Colleague Resource Group has been encouraging important conversations across IC24, sharing stories of inspiring women who have helped shape healthcare and the legacy they have left for future generations. Our first winner in the spotlight is Katie Barker, who has received the Patient Safety Principles Compliments Award for earning the highest number of patient compliments across all of our hardworking Health Advisors. This new award celebrates something truly special — the power of positive patient feedback, and the staff whose compassion, professionalism, and kindness inspired the greatest number of compliments from patients over the past year. Patients shared their thanks with Katie and the 111 service for the outstanding support and care they received, highlighting the real difference this team makes every single day. It was a pleasure for us to welcome colleagues from Devon Partnership NHS Trust to our Norfolk Contact Centre. During the visit, we shared our experience as providers in developing our NHS 111 and Clinical Assessment Services, with a focus on ensuring patients with mental health care needs can access expert support in a timely and effective way. The team were also introduced to our Unscheduled Care Coordination Hub. We are grateful to colleagues from East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust and Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust who took the time to demonstrate the work taking place in this area — live on shift — highlighting the strength of partnership working across the system. We look forward to continuing to collaborate, support one another, and share ideas and innovation as we work together in this vital sector.
