Another week, another long service celebration! Colleagues at MHA Langholme celebrated a combined work anniversary of 40 years and say they feel “privileged” to work at the home. Angela works as a care assistant and has been in her role for 20 years, whilst Patrick, who works as a cook and kitchen assistant has been at the home for 10 and Phillip, a domestic assistant has been working at MHA Langholme for five years. Patrick said: “Something must be right for me to still be here after 15 years, and I do think this will be my last job. “You do have to be prepared as it is hard work, but very enjoyable. “I love putting a smile on people’s faces, and my advice for anyone thinking of starting in care is to stick with it and you will be rewarded.” Amazing achievements in roles that are more than just a job. Join one of our care teams across the UK today!

We're so pleased to announce that we've partnered with charity Thrive as part of our Green Care strategy. Thrive has been using social & therapeutic horticulture and gardening to change people's lives since 1979. Our Green Care Strategy has a similar mission – to enhance wellbeing through nature for everyone we support. Green care will elevate the support we're offering across our care homes, retirement living, and community groups. There's plenty of research to show that outdoor spaces and time in nature have a positive impact on our wellbeing. We're working on more of this, whilst also bringing the outdoors in for anyone who's unable to get outside. We're really excited to see where this new project takes us, find out more mha.org.uk/greencare
