Yesterday two of our very own Kickstart colleagues had the opportunity to meet HRH The Prince of Wales! At Pets at Home we’ve partnered with the Princes Trust to support the Kickstart Scheme which gives young people the confidence and practical support needed to secure employment and stabilise their lives. Cagla and Abi, joined our Support Office team as Talent Acquisition Coordinators and are two of 173 Kickstart Colleagues welcomed into the business over the last year. Abi said: “I was unemployed for over a year after I left school during the pandemic. I applied to lots of jobs but was getting nowhere, and the more rejections I got, the less confident I felt in myself. “In 2021, my job coach told me about the Kickstart Scheme. Starting a new job can be scary, and the extra support from The Prince’s Trust helped me find my feet after a tough time looking for work. I love working as a Talent Acquisition Coordinator for Pets at Home, I’m gaining lots of skills and beginning my career in recruitment.”

We recently won the Best Wellbeing in the Workplace Strategy: Large Organisation award from the Great British Workplace Wellbeing Awards! Judged by a panel of industry experts and campaigners for better standards of wellbeing and mental health support, our entry focused around our continued commitment to all aspects of colleague wellbeing, including mental health, physical, financial, nutritional and social wellbeing. It also recognises that wellbeing is one element of the overall colleague experience and there is a high level of interdependency between wellbeing, our culture, listening to our colleagues and engagement.

Pets at Home Group Plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Lyssa McGowan as Group Chief Executive Officer. Lyssa will succeed Peter Pritchard, who announced his intention last November to step down from his role in Summer 2022 and will remain with the business until 31 May 2022 to ensure a seamless transition. Lyssa will be appointed to the Board as CEO Designate on 25 April 2022 prior to her appointment as CEO on 1 June 2022.
We're thrilled to share that we have come first in the UK Customer Satisfaction Survey from the Institute of Customer Service! The report is the UK’s largest barometer of customer satisfaction. It is released twice a year and is based on an online survey of over 10,000 consumers and comprises 45,000 responses. We’re incredibly proud of all our colleagues on such a fantastic achievement!
