As an industry first, we’re introducing dedicated recycling points for flexible pet food packaging in our stores! The new initiative is supported by pet food producers Mars and Purina PetCare, and aims to combat flexible packaging waste, tackling the pet food packaging made of these materials. We’ve partnered with environmental charity Hubbub to run a trial, which has so far been rolled out across 40 of our stores and three Vets4Pets practices. Following the trial, the initiative will be rolled out across the country with the aim of having recycling points in the majority of stores by the end of next year.
One of our fantastic colleagues, Holli, is a Yoga instructor which means our Support Office colleagues can benefit from morning Yoga once a week! 🧘🏻 We recently ran our first session and had 41 colleagues join us to start their morning in the best way possible!
It’s #WorldYouthSkillsDay and we love to find, support and grow new talent! That’s why we’ve partnered with the Prince's Trust as part of the Kickstart Scheme, supporting young people to get back to work. So far we’ve welcomed 68 Kickstarters across our Group and look forward to working with many more Kickstart colleagues just like Luke! It's that time of year, we've released our Pets at Home Foundation Charity Impact Report for April 2020 to March 2021! Our report highlights an amazing year and some fantastic achievements despite the pandemic. In 2009 we opened our very first Groom Room salon! Since then, we've trained 5,000 skilled groomers and opened 316 salons across the UK! We now have 1,136 groomers currently working in our salons and if you'd like to join them, visit our careers site to find out more!
30 years of campaigning for pets The Pets at Home Foundation have donated £30K to Pets as Therapy as part of our 30 years of pet care celebrations! These funds will support 30 volunteers and 30 establishments set up for a lifetime of visits, Ongoing support through our carrier bag scheme. Our charity The Pets at Home Foundation is the UK's largest grant giver to rescue and rehoming organisations and this donation enables them to help more people through spending time with a pet.
