A well-deserved moment post-Orange Hero Awards 👏 We were proud to recognise SMR Technician Jack Halstead as our Mobile Mechanic of the Year. Jack’s approach says everything about what great looks like at the RAC – always going the extra mile for our members and always looking for ways to keep learning and improving his skills. The award was presented by last year’s winner, Sean Kimberlin, who handed over the SMR RAC plate; a special moment that reflects both the standard and the pride in this role. Congratulations, Jack. An awards dinner, an overnight stay, and a room full of people who genuinely go above and beyond 💫 These are the people who live our values every day. On Saturday, we were proud to host the very first OneRAC Recruitment Day - a true first of its kind for RAC - and it exceeded all expectations. Candidates had the opportunity to meet a wide range of colleagues from across both our SMR and Patrol teams, before taking part in our fast‑track recruitment process, all in one action‑packed day. 📈 The results spoke for themselves: - Fantastic attendance - An incredible pass rate - 100% positive candidate feedback The feedback we’ve received has been hugely encouraging, with valuable insights we’ll carry forward as we continue to evolve our recruitment approach. This event is just one of many more planned, as we look for new and better ways to connect with talent and showcase what life at RAC is really like. 👏 A huge thank you to everyone involved in making the day such a success — a great example of OneRAC collaboration at its best.

We’re excited to welcome our newest group of SMR (Service, Maintenance & Repair) Apprentices to the RAC Academy! 👋🧡 These apprentices are beginning their journey towards becoming skilled SMR Technicians, playing a vital role in helping us keep our members moving. Over the coming months, they’ll work closely with our Academy team to build the technical skills, knowledge and behaviours needed to deliver the high‑quality service the RAC is known for 🔧📘 Starting an apprenticeship is a big step, and we’re proud to support each of them as they learn, grow and take their first steps toward a rewarding career in automotive. 🌱✨

Apprentices Shine in ITV News Feature 📺 We’re thrilled to see our Bristol-based apprentices take the spotlight in an ITV Westcountry news segment aired last week. A special shout-out to Cam Fritz and Chloe Hill, who represented the RAC Academy brilliantly. The crew visited our training centre at S&B Automotive Academy in Bristol to showcase the incredible work happening here and the vital role the Academy plays in attracting and developing top talent while transforming young people’s careers. Huge thanks to Tony Cullum, our Head of Academy, for his passion and commitment, and for representing RAC so well on TV.
