Pupils and teams from our Chilworth House School and Chilworth House Upper School took a trip to Westminster following an invitation from Freddie van Mierlo for Henley and Thame - Liberal Democrat, who was impressed by their insights during his earlier visit to the schools. The pupils explored the historic Westminster Hall, the grand House of Lords, and ventured underground to the parliamentary offices to meet with MP Freddie. They discussed pressing issues like the ADHD medication shortage and its impact on education, plus the pupils had their questions answered about his role, too. Freddie even helped arrange a future meeting for one pupil with the local Health Cabinet Member to dive deeper into this topic. The day was filled with learning about parliamentary history and current practices. Plus, a scenic walk along the Thames and a visit to Buckingham Palace topped off this enriching experience. Pupils returned feeling proud and inspired by the heart of UK democracy.
