At WG, we proudly offer apprenticeships, giving our people practical on-the-job experience. Here, Molly, a Marketing Assistant who recently started a degree apprenticeship, shares a vlog of a typical day at Head Office, which is full of activity.
The Star Awards 2025 was nothing short of spectacular. We celebrated the commitment and excellence that make our team extraordinary. Here’s to everyone who inspires us daily - thank you for making WG truly exceptional.
At WG, we're proud to be a team that thrives on collaboration and support. No matter your role, you're never alone—there's always someone ready to lend a helping hand or offer guidance. 💚 By working closely with our clinical team, our schools create an environment where young people receive the care and support they need, exactly when they need it. It’s this strong sense of teamwork that truly makes a difference in the lives of the young people we educate.
🌟Pupils from our Chilworth House Upper School shone brightly at the annual light festival at Rose Hill Community Centre. In preparation for the event, the aspiring artists worked alongside local artist Mani Manson to craft stunning lanterns. On the day of the festival, the young people were joined by the team, families, and the wider community to enjoy the spectacular parade together. A pupil commented: “I think this is our best one ever!” A parent added: “This is one of the most inclusive and welcoming events I’ve ever attended.”
The team had a fantastic time at The Occupational Therapy Show last week. 💚 It was a fantastic chance to meet and connect with a wide range of professionals, sharing our expertise and learning from others. Engaging with so many passionate individuals and building new relationships made the event truly memorable. Overall, it was a great time for both networking and expanding our knowledge within the occupational therapy community and demonstrating what life is like at WG as an occupational therapist. A big thank you to our OTs who attended and made the event a huge success, and well done to Stephanie, Helen, Lisa, Ashleigh and Ruby for presenting a couple of fantastic talks!
At WG, we foster an environment where our young individuals can grow and progress so that, upon leaving us, they can achieve the brightest futures. Promoting their independence is closely linked with ensuring they always feel safe and supported. Our clinical team collaborates directly with our young people, rather than just meeting them for occasional appointments. They are consistently available for any needs the young person may have at any time. This is an exceptionally unique part of working at WG, and we understand it offers our young people the highest level of support during their time with us. We sat down with Kristi, one of our Senior Occupational Therapists to find out why she loves working at WG. 💚 Watch the video - https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7259859610784739329
We are very proud to have achieved the Bronze award in collaboration with the Armed Forces Covenant. Our partnership has been instrumental in fostering a strong relationship with the armed forces community, offering them fantastic future employment opportunities for once they leave the service. We remain dedicated to building on this foundation, continuously enhancing our initiatives to achieve the gold award. This award recognises the commitment and support that we offer for the defence force.
A big well done to those who took part in the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge over the weekend to raise money for Brathay Trust!⛰️ It was a gruelling day out hiking 24.5 miles, but the team got to enjoy some sunshine and great views as well as plenty of cakes and brews provided by Mike the support team. We are incredibly proud of their achievement and raising over £1000 for a great charity!
🌟 The buzz of excitement for what’s to come this new school year is real among our children and young people. From stepping into adulthood to starting classes with new friends and teachers, their enthusiasm will result in another great year. This is why all our schools are recognised as Good and Outstanding by Ofsted.
Our dedicated team, filled with skilled and passionate individuals, works tirelessly to change lives every day. ⭐ We recently sat down with Naoimh, one of our Clinical Directors, to explore her journey into becoming a Speech and Language Therapist and her path to leadership here at WG. Inspired by helping her younger brother growing up, Naoimh pursued speech and language therapy to help support others. Her story is a testament to our commitment to nurturing talent and fostering growth, not just for our young people, but for our incredible staff too! At WG, we prioritise Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and provide numerous opportunities for our team members to advance their skills and progress in their careers. Just as we support our children and young people to thrive, we encourage our staff to reach their fullest potential. Naoimh emphasises that our young people are the heart of everything we do. That’s why we strive to create the best environments for learning and living—because when our young people flourish, we all flourish! 🌻
